Miss Kagera sponsoring
pageant for 2004
Kiroyera Tours is one of the
sponsors of the unique beauty contest that will involve 15 contests
from different District of Kagera region. It will beheld on
10th July, 2004 at CCM Building Hall. Miss Tanzania 2003 will
be one of the key judges.
Coffee and Vanilla Season
These are the main cash crops in Kagera. Vanilla has
recently been introduced but effectively coming up. Farmers
have started harvesting coffee (Robust and Arabic). The fields
are the result of Organic farming that makes the taste unique
and palatable. The prevailing prices offered by coffee buyers
is not desirable to farmers.
Steady flow of tourists are plenty in
Kagera
This has been the month of Tourist blessings. There has been
a good number of potential tourists flowing in Kagera region
from different parts of the world. Lake Victoria (the second
largest Lake in the world) being the most leading attractions
with its Islands. There is a sufficiency of potential Tourist
infrastructure including classical Hotel.
Bananas (Matoke) Peak
Bananas are the main staple food of the local people in Kagera.
June is the month when the harvest is out the peak. The price
at the main market in Bukoba town is low and affordable.
The out Break of attractive Butterflies
in the Minziro forest Reserve
During the month of June up to September, tourist can
enjoy different species of attractive butterflies that can’t
be found anywhere else in the world. Now plenty throughout the
day and you can enjoy the deferent species of birds. Minziro
forest reserve found on the western part of the Lake Victoria
near Ugandan border.
Kagera Museum Trust Appreciation on
Mr. Dick Person (Zoologist)
Kagera Museum Trust, Kiroyera Tours, Bukoba Rotarians.
Held a part of on 21st June 2004 of appreciation for the wonderful
work done by Mr. Dick Person (or Export from Denmark) who for
more than 5 years has been taking pictures of different attractive
animals of different species originating in Kagera region. Mr.
Dick Person termed as WILDLIFE THE GOLD OF KAGERA. Photos are
available in Kagera Museum which attracts people who visit the
Museum.
The first meeting of Tourist stake holder
in Kagera region on 19th June 2004
The first time in Kagera History, Kagera region held
a special meeting that involves different stake holders from
different district to discuss significant tourism affairs. This
meeting was enhanced by the Minister of Tourism and Natural
resources known as Zakhia Meghji who visited Kagera region on
May, 2004.
Mrs. Mary Kalikawe (The Director of Kiroyera
Tours) was also appointed by the same Minister to be member
of the Board of Tanzania. With this particular title, Mrs. Mary
Kalikawe for the first time attended the Board meeting that
was held in Morogoro on 19th June 2004.
REGIONAL COMMISSIONER CONGRATULATE M.
KALIKAWE
The Regional Commissioner of Kagera region Hon.
T. N. Kiwelu has congratulated The Director of Kiroyera tours
Mrs Mary C. Kalikawe for designing a national dress contribution
from Kagera. The contest of designers at national level was
held in Dodoma (Government Head Quota) where the designer from
Kigoma near Kagera region to the northern west won for ladies
dress and the Dar es Salaam won for the men.
