Located at the beach of Lake Victoria, a beautiful and rustic location in Bukoba, Kiroyera Campsite is the most popular place for backpackers, campers and people who like to experience the beachlife. It is only 5 minutes from the harbor, only five minutes from the airport, only five minutes from Bukoba town and only five minutes from an internet cafe.

Rent a Tent or Traditional Banda
You can come with your own tent ($4 pp), or rent one of our tents ($5 pp) or even better, you can sleep in one of our traditional bandas ($10 pp). These beach-huts or "mushonge" like we call them in our native language, are built by local craftsmen and are built completely out of local material found in Kagera region, giving you a uniquely local African feel.


Peter Pizza Hut and Tinus Beach Bar
Our cook, Peter Pizza, is the best pizza maker in town! But he is also known for his rice & beef, tilapia (fresh from the Lake) mashed potatoes and chicken chips! Of course we also have a bar, Tinus Beach bar, with a large assortment of drinks to suit your choice.


Play Beach Volleyball or Relax in a Hammock
Every evening just before sunset we play some beach volleyball! As our guest you are welcome to join! Otherwise just relax in your hammock with a glass of beer and read a book from our customised library of contemporary novels.


Boat safari on Lake Victoria
We have our own boat at the campsite! We can take you on a 20 minutes ride to Musila island to visit a fisher community and see the birdlife or we can take you out fishing on Lake Victoria with traditional bambo fishing gear! The catch of the day can be prepared for you by our cook!


Finish the Day at the Campfire
In the evenings you can sit at our campfire, enjoy the stars, be amazed by a beautiful moonrise over Lake Victoria, and see the little lights of the fishermen of Musila island that fish on the Lake during the night. Lala salama, tomorrow morning you will wake up to see the must beautiful sunrise over Lake Victoria.
