Tanzania is the land of contrasts. From the snow-capped
peak of Mountain Kilimanjaro to the endless plains of the Serengeti,
from the sun kissed islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago to the
gentle shores of Lake Victoria, the country contains immense cultural
and natural wealth. With over 25% of the country’s total landmass
dedicated to wildlife parks and conservation areas, Tanzania remains
wholeheartedly committed to the preservation of Africa’s great
wilderness and incredible species.

Day 01 – Arrival in Kampala (Uganda)

Day 01 - Arrival in Kampala (Uganda)
You fly to Kampala the capital of Uganda. Land at Entebbe airport.
From here we take you to your hotel in Entebbe where you can rest
from your journey. Overnight Entebbe hotel (Bed & Breakfast).
Day 02 - Kampala (Uganda) – Bukoba (Tanzania)
An early morning start from Kampala takes you southwest and across
the Equator. Crossing the equator where we will stop for an hour
to experience the great geographical line. In Masaka we stop at
hotel Bravad for lunch. We reach the border crossing into Tanzania
at Mutukura. After this we will cross the border to Tanzania.
Arrive in Bukoba in the end of the afternoon. Overnight in traditional
bandas at Kiroyera Campsite at the beach overlooking the great
Lake Victoria.
Day
03 – Bukoba - Community Tour (Tanzania)
Bukoba is a small bustling typical Africa town with an attractive
waterside setting. Today you will do a community walk trough Bukoba
town, you visit the local market, a school, a church, the museum
and a drum-making workshop run by disabled people. After lunch
you have a boat safari to the majestic Musila island. You visit
the fishing community on the island and view the amazing bird
life on and around the island. Overnight Kiroyera Campsite bandas.
Day 04 – Bukoba - Cultural Tour (Tanzania)
After Breakfast we drive through banana and coffee farms to the
Ancient Rock paintings and a the internationally known religious
shrine of Nyakujoge, known as the Lourdes of Africa. We stop at
Kihilila Gera where we will learn how to prepare a traditional
Haya (tribe) meal. You can see how orphans create local crafts
and enjoy the tribal dancing if you wish you can join and dance.
You overnight in a beautiful guesthouse in this village and experience
the local village life. Overnight Mugana guesthouse (Breakfast
& Lunch).
Day
05 – Bukoba - Rubondo Island (Tanzania)
We drive from Bukoba to Muganza in 3 hours. Here we take a boat
to Rubondo Island (30 minutes). Rubondo Island, in the southwest
of Lake Victoria is Tanzania’s only island National Park. At the
island a car will bring you trough the forest to the bandas in
a 25 minutes drive. If lucky you can spot the first game here
on the way. The bandas where you will stay are self contained
with a toilet, a bathroom, mosquito nets and a kitchen with all
the facilities available. Overnight bandas and prepare your own
food.
Day 06 - day 07 – Rubondo Island (Tanzania)
On the island it is possible to organise several tours. Walking
tours through the identified path in the forest takes 2-3 hours
on the way you can meet giraffe, sitatungas, elephant etc, you
can go sport Fishing, for a boat ride to see hippos, crocodiles
and birds. In the evenings you can sit around the open fire and
enjoy the African quite evenings. Overnight in bandas.
Day 08 – Rubondo Island - Bukoba (Tanzania)
After breakfast we take the boat to the mainland. From here we
drive to Bukoba. In the evening you take the night ferry to Mwanza.
Overnight in first class cabins on ferry.

09 - Mwanza – Serengeti (Tanzania)
Early in the morning we pick you up from the ferry. Today your
wildlife safari starts in Serengeti National Park. It is the best-known
wildlife sanctuary in the world and boasts many species of plain
animals from hare to the elephant. The name Serengeti comes from
the Masai word “Siringet” referring to an endless plain. Drive
to Serengeti National Park, along with picnic lunch boxes. Game
drive in the Serengeti National Park, Overnight at Wildlife Lodge
or campsite in Serengeti (Dinner).
Day 10 - Serengeti – Ngorongoro (Tanzania)
Breakfast at the lodge or campsite. Morning game drive in Serengeti.
After lunch we drive to Ngorongoro. On the way you can stop at
a Masai village or at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists
Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing
to the theory that human life originated in Africa. Overnight
at Wildlife Lodge or campsite in Ngorongoro (Breakfast, Lunch,
Dinner).
Day 11 - Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania)
Ngorongoro, often described as one of the wonders of the world,
the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, it is a natural sanctuary
for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is also one
of the few places one can see the rare black rhino in their natural
setting. Descend into the crater floor for a crater tour early
evening ascend the crater and drive to Lake Manyara Overnight
Lake Manyara Hotel (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 12 - Lake Manyara National Park (Tanzania)
Lake Manyara is a small and beautiful park at the base of the
Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park boasts tree-climbing lions.
Apart from this there are several different types of forests with
a variety of fauna including hippos, baboons, buffaloes, leopards,
giraffes, elephants, zebra, monkeys and a large variety of birds
including flamingoes. Early evening, drive to Arusha. Overnight
L'Oasis Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch).
Day
13 – Arusha - Visit Masai village (Tanzania)
Today you visit a traditional Masai village. Masai is a largely
nomadic pastoral people of East-Africa, chiefly in Kenya and Tanzania.
Cattle and sheep form the basis of the economy that they have
maintained in resistance to cultural change. The Masai live off
the milk, blood, and meat of their livestock. Boys are initiated
into a warrior age-group responsible for herding, killing predators,
and other tribal labors; only after serving as a warrior may a
man marry. The Masai, who are characteristically tall and slender,
live traditionally in the kraal, a compound within which are mud
houses. Overnight L’Oasis (Bed & Breakfast).
Day 14 - Fly Back Home
Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for flight back home. You have
arrived as our guests and now leaving as our friends. Have a happy
journey! Your footprints will still remain in East Africa long
after you have left.
