Come Experience an African Safari Way Off the Beaten Path

Our African Safari itineraries offer you a directory of scenic lands, water activities, beaches and islands, animals, culture, traditional music, religious pilgrimage, historical monuments and leisure besides a wider variety of holiday activities. As for how much sun? – this destination is 1 degree south of the EQUATOR.

The romance of Bukoba begins with its geography. Unlike the gradual rise of the Italian Riviera or the abrupt rising of the hills of Corfu town in Greece, Bukoba, an inland lake port town, sits like a low lying basin on the edge of the vast Lake Victoria basin. It is set between the water’s edge and a rugged backdrop of rock cliffs that are like a massive protective shield around the African town.

Colonialists, missionaries, traders, explorers, international aid organizations, friends of people of Bukoba and refugees from Africa discovered Bukoba many years ago and have been blended into the rhythm of its present society.

Buhaya (as the larger part of Kagera region was known) had 8 kingdoms, which lasted for about 5 centuries. Kings lived in elaborate palaces. The demise of these kingdoms left ruins of which some can be seen today. Now Kiroyera Tours has opened Bukoba's gates to tourists for a treat to an African safari of a lifetime, where they get a chance to experience our rich history, culture and natural beauty.
